Palestine Wildlife Society works since1999 in Palestine as the first NGO’s in Partnership with local stakeholders and communities and with international key players in an innovative way to: 1) Conserve species, habitats, and sites, 2) Promote Ecological Sustainability, and 3) Empower People for Positive Environmental Change.
Fishes, snails, plants, subterranean salamanders and more, the Mediterranean Basin Hotspot is globally important for its freshwater biodiversity. This vital habitat is of course vital for human life too, and as the demand for water increases, so can pressures on biodiversity.
Although agricultural lands comprise just over 12% of Jordan’s territory, it contributes up to 20% of the national income. Unfortunately, Jordan’s agriculture is threatened by urban expansion, land fragmentation and climate change. Discover how we’re helping to combat this by training local communities in traditional practices.
