Search for Sites

Through this search you can view the Important Bird Areas (IBAs) by country and by region. Identification of IBAs is still incomplete in some countries (notably in Australasia, Oceania and North America), and the Data Zone will be updated as the national IBA inventories are completed.

You can find a particular site or set of sites by specifying a combination of region, country/territory and international name. For example, to find all sites beginning with the letter “A”, simply enter A into the International name box and click on the search button. Alternatively, to search for all sites in a particular country/territory, ensure the international name is blank and then select a region followed by a country/territory and then click the search button. From either the search results or an individual factsheet you can see the location of IBAs on an interactive map, allowing you to pan, zoom and switch between a traditional map and satellite imagery.
