BirdLife International and Content With Purpose are delighted to announce a brand-new partnership to launch an ambitious new digital series entitled ‘Global Flyways’.

Every year, billions of birds take flight across our planet’s land and seas, covering thousands of kilometres across migratory ‘superhighways’ that we call flyways. Guided by instinct, memory and earth’s natural rhythm, these journeys link hemispheres, cultures and ecosystems in an interconnected web of habitats. We’re partnering with Content With Purpose to produce an ambitious new digital series spotlighting the awe-inspiring wonder of migration and our global movement conserving birds and all life, everywhere.

Entitled Global Flyways, the film series will chart the world’s four major flyway routes, weaving together, with marine flyways, the extraordinary migrations birds make with human and local connections. It will spotlight work from local activists on the ground to policymakers setting global agendas to protect vital sites such as Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs), push for protective legislation and showcase truly borderless conservation.

Through a mix of case studies, expert interviews and animated explainers, we will shine a light on what’s at risk, with nearly 40% of migratory species under threat, facing pressures from habitat loss, climate change, illegal killings, and expanding infrastructure. But also the power of our global Partnership and what’s possible when nations and cultures unite to protect Earth’s terrestrial and marine flyways.

The series will launch at BirdLife’s Global Flyways Summit being held in Nairobi, Kenya during September 2026, forming the heart of a bold digital marketing and communications campaign. Watch this space for more information on this exciting new series!

Martin Harper, CEO of BirdLife International, said: “Migratory birds are among nature’s greatest wonders, connecting continents, cultures, and ecosystems through their epic journeys. Yet their future is increasingly uncertain. At BirdLife International, we are thrilled to collaborate with CWP on Global Flyways—an ambitious digital series that will bring these incredible migrations to life and spotlight the global efforts to protect them. This initiative will not only showcase the critical importance of flyway conservation but also celebrate the international cooperation that makes it possible. Together, we can inspire a global movement to safeguard these lifelines—for birds, for people, and for the planet.”

Max Smith, Founder & Managing Director at CWP, said: “At CWP, we believe in the power of storytelling to connect people around the world and inspire collective action. We’re proud to partner with BirdLife International on Global Flyways—a compelling digital series that brings to life the extraordinary journeys of migratory birds and the global communities working to protect them. By illuminating their ecological and cultural significance, we aim to celebrate their role in uniting ecosystems, traditions, and people—and to spark renewed responsibility for the fragile, shared habitats we all depend on.”
