Executive Assistant to the CEO

• Location: Cambridge, UK
• Full time: 35 hours per week
• Duration: Open ended
• Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 pro rata per annum (dependent on skills and experience) plus competitive 12% pension benefit
• Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata per annum in year 1, increasing by 1 day pa to 28 days
 
BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
 
We are looking for someone to provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer.  
 
This person will manage the Chief Executive’s Office to ensure that it is run effectively and efficiently, helping the Chief Executive to plan ahead and anticipate any potential issues / conflicts which may arise.
 
The ideal candidate will have
• A proactive and pre-emptive approach
• A proven track record in a secretarial role, preferably at CEO / Board level (experience of working in an international organisation is an advantage)
• Minute taking skills and ability to type fluently, accurately and quickly
• Excellent communication skills, tact and diplomacy and the ability to influence
• The ability to identify, analyse and solve problems proactively
• A high level of computer literacy
• Must be willing to work outside of normal office hours to accommodate different time zones and deal with unexpected changes to the CEO’s travel plans
• The right to work in the UK
