Americas Corporate Engagement Intern (Volunteer)

The successful applicant will play a vital role with BirdLife’s Business and Biodiversity team in the development and implementation of a corporate engagement strategy for the Americas Region, with a particular focus on energy and communications transmission, renewable energy and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
 
Typical tasks might include:
 
Research and preparation of briefings for the team and for BirdLife’s business partners 
Identifying and communicating policy and regulatory requirements and other sector-relevant business drivers in the Americas   
 Compilation of corporate due diligence assessments
 Support the preparation of engagement and advocacy plans and input to strategy
 Assist with preparations for strategic meetings between BirdLife, business and our Regional Partners          
 
What we are looking for:
A creative and enthusiastic individual, willing to diligently apply your research, analytical and communication skills to contribute to the BirdLife business engagement agenda. You will need to be able to think laterally, identifying synergies between business sustainability priorities and BirdLife Strategic opportunities. Competency in the use of Microsoft Office is essential, as is an ability to work independently as well as within and across teams and regions. Fluency in Spanish would be advantageous.
 
Relationships:
The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Partnerships Manager and work closely with members of the Business and Biodiversity team and Regional teams. The position will be based in the BirdLife global HQ, at the David Attenborough Building in Cambridge, England.

Conditions 
The duration and working hours for this voluntary position are flexible and open to discussion. Ideally, the successful candidate would be available for a minimum of 2-3 days per week for a 4 month period.
