‘Business and Biodiversity’ Intern (Volunteer)

BirdLife International is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to work on a voluntary basis with our Business and Biodiversity team, based at our headquarters in Cambridge, England.
The successful applicant will play an important role in part in a wide range of tasks which will support our work with the extractives industry in West Africa, organising a global business and biodiversity conference, and developing and testing innovative tools for business.
Typical tasks might include:
> Conducting and compiling research to map the corporate landscape in priority countries
> Working with the team to influence corporate safeguard policies
> Input to ongoing development of biodiversity metrics for the extractives sector
> Compiling relevant research and evidence for our corporate partners
> Supporting the organisation of a global business and biodiversity event
> Offering general administrative support
What we are looking for:
You will need to have good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills, although full training can be given for any necessary technical requirements. French language skills would be a big bonus and enthusiasm, organisational skills, basic computer skills in all Microsoft packages and the ability to work independently would also be key skill requirements for this role.
The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Engagement Manager and work closely with members of the Business and Biodiversity team
The position will be based in our head office at the David Attenborough Building in Cambridge, England.

The duration and working hours for this voluntary position are flexible and open to discussion. Ideally, the successful candidate would be available for a minimum of 2-3 days per week for a 6 month period.
