Rural development: A critical opportunity for people and biodiversity

With a spotlight on the Alpine region

6 November 2013 - Turin, Italy

Organised by BirdLife Europe together with LIPU (BirdLife in Italy) and BirdLife Austria, this conference aimed at exploring the new EU rural development policy with all its opportunities for boosting the economy and the environment. A special focus was put on Rural Development in the Alpine region as a key challenge that needs to be addressed with policies originating in different countries but all starting from the same common framework: the Common Agricultural Policy. The debate brought together a wide range of speakers, including the EU Institutions, national and regional Ministries and relevant stakeholders.
