In partnership with BirdLife International, HeidelbergCement is sponsoring the 2019 season of the enduring Spring Alive project. Now in its 13th year, the project reaches out to children, their teachers and families across Europe and Africa in creating awareness about migratory birds.

The project with the help of the local BirdLife NGO partners spreads the message about the importance and the need to protect these birds and their habitats. As an extra element to this year’s programme, selected HeidelbergCement quarries from different countries will be participating. In opening their doors to their local community, they will engage in identifying the possible types of migratory birds visiting the quarries and the associated habitats. Information that could be utilised to help better manage the biodiversity during operations.

More information on the project is available on our Spring Alive page
