Madagascar by Tim Stewart

By Shaun Hurrell

A member of BirdLife's Rare Bird Club has produced a marvellous pictorial account of the Rare Bird Club's tour of Madagascar last year. The book's foreword is written by authors Graeme Gibson and Margaret Atwood. A remarkable collection of photographs evoke the sometimes overwhelming experiences of a group touring this unique island and encountering its astonishing wildlife. On route the Rare Bird Club met Asity, a grassroots conservation NGO in Madagascar and were able to support them. Tim Stewart has kindly produced this book for free and profits from every sale will go to BirdLife International. Images and design by Tim Stewart; text by Mark Mclean. Available for purchase online here:   The Rare Bird Club is an exclusive international community of concerned individuals who are determined to make a difference. Through BirdLife International, it provides the resources which help to deliver successful projects to reverse the global decline in species and improve the quality of peoples’ lives. Its contribution helps to ensure the long-term investment that is essential for sustainable conservation. The Rare Bird Club meets together to share the excitement of nature, learn about conservation work and experience the rigours and delights of wildlife through visits to projects in the field.
