Trusts and Foundations

BirdLife’s conservation success worldwide would not be possible without the generous support of a wide range of trusts and foundations, and other grant giving organisations, who share our passion for the natural world.   We are extremely grateful for their support and the confidence they continue to show in BirdLife’s approach.  We take every opportunity to increase our understanding of the interests and aspirations of our supporters, and to explore how, together, we can realise our shared goal of a healthy environment for both wildlife and people.

Here are some of the ways in which, together, we are making an impact:

The Aage V Jensen Charity Foundation has helped us to protect the High Andes Wetlands of South America

"The vision of our Foundation is to give everybody the chance to experience a rich and varied nature – today and in the future.  Our long-term support to BirdLife International is helping us to make that vision a reality.  Together, we are protecting some of the world’s unique and irreplaceable landscapes, helping the people and wildlife that live in these to thrive.

Across every continent, our projects are raising awareness of the many threats facing species and landscapes and are making progress in addressing those threats at every level.  We greatly appreciate the effort, work and dedication that BirdLife International has put into fulfilling the many projects that the Foundation has supported and are immensely proud of the achievements we have made together. "

Inspiring future generations

With the support of the Mitsubishi Corporation Fund for Europe and Africa, we are bringing children closer to their local wildlife. Photo: Spring Alive.

"The Mitsubishi Corporation Fund for Europe and Africa aims to promote environmental conservation, education and research into the environment and poverty alleviation.  Since 2008, we have supported Birdlife International's 'Spring Alive' campaign to promote children’s interest in nature through the spring arrival of migratory birds.

Each year we receive inspirational reports and have been delighted to see the project grow and to learn of the increasing number of children and families taking an interest in birds and wildlife as a result.

Over 40 countries are now involved, including many in Africa, and we are proud to have facilitated such wonderful international collaboration and participation.   Projects like Spring Alive can help spark a lifelong interest in nature conservation – so we see our support as a vital investment in our shared future."
