Our climate is changing—with worrying impacts on birds and biodiversity already recorded around the world. Understanding the likely future impacts will be critical to understanding the implications for conservation. BirdLife is involved in a suite of scientific collaborations to assess projected impacts on the distributions of birds, identify the most susceptible species, quantify the impacts on Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, and evaluate the most appropriate adaptation actions that will be required. This science underpins BirdLife’s Climate Change Programme.
