Finding BirdLife International in Cambridge

Our headquarters are located in Cambridge, housed within the the David Attenborough Building on Pembroke Street.  This new centre for biodiversity conservation is a vibrant hub, being a unique collaboration between the University of Cambridge and the Cambridge-based cluster of leading conservation organisations, as well as the Museum of Zoology.

How to access the David Attenborough Building 


There are two entrances:

via Pembroke Street
Walk through the Pembroke Arch entrance on Pembroke Street – the arch is roughly opposite Tennis Court Road (where Pembroke Street joins and becomes Downing Street)
You will see a large flight of steps ahead of you – don’t take these, walk past them about 50m until you see another flight of steps side on to the building on your right. 
Go up these steps which takes you to the Podium level or take the external lift adjacent to the stairs, pressing “P” button for Podium Level. 
After you emerge from the lift, enter through the glass doors diagonally opposite you where you will be greeted by a David Attenborough Building receptionist.
You will be directed to the 1st Floor which is where BirdLife is based.

via Corn Exchange Street
Take the stairs or the glass fronted lift at street level on Corn Exchange Street, pressing “P” button in the lift for Podium Level.  
These are both located directly opposite the car entrance to the Grand Arcade car park.  
As you emerge from the lift, enter through the glass doors opposite where you will be greeted by a David Attenborough Building receptionist.
You will be directed to the 1st Floor which is where BirdLife is based.

 

Public Transport

The David Attenborough Building is close to the main bus station in Cambridge, Drummer Street, which is a few minutes’ walk away. Please visit the Cambridge Country Council's website for more information on bus timetables, routes, etc. 

Cambridge has five park and ride car parks, located around the city, You can view the map of the park and ride sites on the council's website

The railway station is c. 20-25 minutes' walk away from the building. Click here for a map of the walking route between the David Attenborough Building and the station. There is a taxi rank by the station as well as numerous bus stops.  
 

Car Parking

There is no car parking on site. The nearest car park is the Grand Arcade car park, the entrance to which is on Corn Exchange Street. 

There are two disabled car-parking spaces within the New Museums Site. Please contact reception at least 24 hours in advance to request use of these spaces.
