Mid-August co-ordinates returned for Tatyana seemed to show her remaining within 100km of Kantarlau in Eastern Kazakhstan, close to where she was tagged in May. However a stronger signal on 5th September placed her around 600km to the west, some 80km south of Karaganda.
A recent signal from Tatyana, logged at 21:28 on August 22nd, confirmed she has departed her breeding grounds a few kilometers East of Lake Tengiz in Central Kazakhstan and has now travelled about 200 km. in a westerly direction.
Tatyana was initially tagged in eastern Kazakhstan in early June 2010 and after raising her chicks she has remained close to her nesting site with other Sociable Lapwings in her breeding colony.
