Alia

Alia is an adult female Sociable Lapwing tagged in May 2010 at Birlik in Central Kazakhstan. Her name in Kazakh means ‘chosen one’ and she’s becoming a bit of a film star.

In order to help our scientists spot her in a large flock during migration she has been colour ringed. Her colour ring combination is blue over yellow on her left leg and green over blue on her right leg.
