Darwin Initiative funding has been the primary source of support enabling the Sociable Lapwing Conservation Project to become established. Here RSPB scientists funded by Darwin are monitoring breeding birds in Kazakhstan.

In addition to raising considerable funding, Birdfair also generates enormous publicity each year by acting as advocates for conservation. In 2010 the Birdfair project is Saving Southern Ethiopia’s Endemic birds.

The Rufford Foundation is an independent grant-making trust based in the UK and has supported RSPB and ACBK with funding for the Sociable Lapwing Conservation project on the breeding grounds in Kazakhstan.
