New guidebook for New Caledonia's birds

A new guidebook has been published by SCO (BirdLife in New Caledonia) which gives a concise description of the breeding, migratory and sea birds found within the Pacific country. Oiseaux marins, côtiers et des zones humides de Nouvelle-Calédonie byNicolas Barré, Olivier Hébert et Frédéric Desmoulins brings to the amateur naturalist vital  information needed to identify and learn about birds of New Caledonia, supplemented by information on threats and conservation measured needed. Interesting! This looks like a great guidebook!

There are 22 endemic species of birds. Some of the most notable are the kagu, New Caledonian raven, and the giant wood pigeon. New Caledonia is a hotspot for endemic insular biodiversity.
