Qualifié de "nicheur abondant dans toutes les montagnes" (Vaucher, 1915), il semble que le vautour fauve (Gyps fulvus) ait été présent autrefois dans la plupart des reliefs marocains. La régression de l’espèce, très nettement constatée depuis 1960, réduit considérablement les chances d’observation aujourd’hui. Voici l’histoire du vautour M13, pour lequel une poignée d’hommes passionnés se mobilisent pour conserver sa liberté.
