El Grupo Jaragua (BirdLife en República Dominicana) realizó el lanzamiento oficial del directorio de las Áreas Importantes para la Conservación de las Aves (IBAs) en República Dominicana, junto a sus colaboradores el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (MIRENA) y el Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). Dicho evento simboliza a su vez el lanzamiento de una red de rescate de su frágil y amenazada biodiversidad.
