A census in 2010 revealed that only one Black-fronted Piping-guan was left in the mountain range of Sierra do Mar, São Paulo. Wasting no time, the team of SAVE Brasil started a reintroduction programme. Six years later, the situation is being reverted.

El jueves 24 de junio se llevó a cabo una reunión con productores para tratar la “PROBLEMÁTICA CAUQUENES”, en la Sociedad Rural de Coronel Dorrego. A este encuentro asistieron más de 15 productores de la zona, que formaban parte de varias de las comisiones de fomento. La idea del encuentro fue bridarles a los productores toda la información que se ha venido recabando sobre el estado actual de las tres especies de cauquenes que llegan cada invierno a Dorrego y los partidos vecinos, y comunicarles los cambios en materia normativa que se han dado en los últimos años
