The petrels of the Pacific are in decline. These iconic birds have lost more populations in the wider Pacific than any other bird family. BirdLife wants to turn the tide. Pacific Petrels in Peril is the first comprehensive plan to protect this family of birds. Priority actions will include finding the breeding sites of Fiji Petrel, Beck's Petrel and Heinroths Shearwater. Overall there are more than 18 species that need help. Because petrels mainly face the same threats, conservation actions, like the restoration of islands of the Acteon & Gambier Archipelagos, can save a number of species with one operation. But the challenge is bigger than just BirdLife and we need the help of partners and especially financial support. Become part of saving these really special birds from sliding into extinction. .
