The BirdLife International World Conservation Conference & Global Partnership Meeting is BirdLife's four yearly conference that unites our network and the wider community of collaborating organisations, individuals and decision-makers.

The Conference is entitled Empowering People for Change and will take place at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa from Sunday 7 March to Saturday 13 March.

Empowering People for Change has three aims:

  • To share and celebrate successes, experiences, skills and knowledge in biodiversity conservation with a special focus on birds, birds as indicators and empowering people to achieve conservation.

  • To strengthen local, national and global capacity to deliver conservation action.

  • To agree and adopt strategies, programmes and policies for the conservation of birds, wider biodiversity and to achieve sustainability in the use of natural resources.
