Survey success in Tanzania: 17 new territories found for Critically Endangered Long-billed Tailorbird

Over the last year, intensive effort has been under way to survey and monitor the Critically Endangered Long-billed Tailorbird, in the East Usambara Mountains in Tanzania, to provide information on the species distribution and habitat requirements.

First five CEPF projects granted in the Eastern Afromontane hotspot!

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund has signed the first contracts with Civil Society Organisations in the Eastern Afromontane hotspot. These are for projects in the Albertine Rift, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Ethiopia.

Workshop ushers in new collaboration for conservation in the ‘Eastern Afromontane Hotspot’

A recent workshop brought together the Eastern Afromontane Hotspot Regional Implementation Team (RIT), and representatives of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) Secretariat. Participants developed a strategic plan for CEPF’s 5-year investment in the hotspot, aimed at strengthening civil society’s role in conservation in the region.
