BirdLife International is a partnership of national grass root conservation organisations present in more than 120 countries and territories.  Together we are the world leader in bird conservation.  BirdLife’s unique local-to-global approach enables us to deliver high impact and long term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
 
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to provide strategic oversight of the Partnership and Network Development portfolio of work. Reporting directly to the CEO and an integral member of the Management Team, the ideal candidate will lead and manage the process of developing and implementing global network development strategies and plans for BirdLife International and support the strategic growth and strengthening of the BirdLife network globally. 
 
The ideal candidate will have: 
• An established track record of strategic leadership within NGO development and capacity development internationally. 
• Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of international conservation and development issues
• Excellent leadership, project and people management skills
• The ability to influence and build strong relationships through informed vision, political skill and networking with a diverse group of organisations.
• Very strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work diplomatically and effectively with people from different cultures and diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrable record of influence & relationship building with high-level donors & decision makers.
• Previous experience of management of multidisciplinary teams across locations.
• Experience of leading or driving local engagement and empowerment initiatives.
