An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Assistant within the Conservation Department. The Conservation Department is a team of people working on a diverse range of conservation projects, each fulfilling a variety of tasks and travelling frequently. This new member of the team will be an important focal point for the department; using their excellent organisational skills and providing administrative support to assist with the successful functioning of the team. 

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Organising travel arrangements; including visas, booking flights and accommodation.
• Organising meetings and taking minutes.
• Managing email correspondence and taking phone calls.
• Preparing/editing PowerPoint presentations as required.
• Preparing/editing emails and Word documents as required.
• Inputting of data and maintaining documents.  
• Filing paperwork and keeping folders up-to-date.
• Preparing expenses reports and necessary documentation.
• Raising invoices and processing payment requests.
• Assisting with compiling and reviewing finance reports.

The required qualifications and skills are:

• Good general education to Degree level or equivalent
• Secretarial/admin experience 
• High motivation, desire to achieve
• Excellent organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work to high standards with tight deadlines
• Ability deal with multiple tasks and work independently

Location: BirdLife International Secretariat, Cambridge

Duration: 2 year contract with a possibility of extension

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Salary: £19,000 - £22,000 per annum dependent on experience.  Competitive pension benefits.
