Your Legacy and BirdLife

Leave a lasting gift to the birds of the world - and help protect them into the future.

If you love nature and birds, then you may wish to help preserve the joy and wonder they bring. Have you ever considered helping birds around the world through a gift in your will?

Pledging a legacy in your will, however small, is an extremely valuable way of helping BirdLife International and our Partners ensure that vital work to protect birds continues into the future. The legacies that BirdLife has received over the years have been extremely valuable to our work.

It need not be difficult or expensive to amend your will to incorporate a legacy made out to "BirdLife International". For a leaflet and detailed information please contact:

Here are just a few people who have left a donation to BirdLife International in their will.

David Fisher is Managing Director of the British bird tour company Sunbird and has been an active supporter of BirdLife for more than 25 years.

"My work as a bird tour leader takes me to many countries around the world each year. I'm perhaps more exposed than most birdwatchers to the threats facing so many species these days - and so I really appreciate the importance of the conservation work of the BirdLife Partnership. Including a legacy for BirdLife in my will seemed like the least I could do to help." —David Fisher

Jane Fenton is a dedicated wildlife conservationist who has been with BirdLife International since 1982 and was instrumental in establishing the Rare Bird Club.

"Having worked for many years at BirdLife, I have seen legacies making a vital difference to conservation projects. I feel passionately about the importance of BirdLife's work and know that the legacy I leave will be used wisely." —Jane Fenton

Richard Porter has worked for BirdLife International, the RSPB (BirdLife Partner in the UK) and alongside many other BirdLife Partners around the world.

"In scores of countries worldwide there are growing organisations - members of the BirdLife Partnership - tackling the serious threats to our planet's wild birds. As a professional conservationist, I have witnessed their achievements first-hand and I am proud to have pledged a legacy to BirdLife." —Richard Porter

Rob Colwell is a World Bird Club member and lives in the USA.

"Whether it's been the sight of millions of albatrosses nesting on the Falkland Islands [Malvinas], or just a pair of chickadees in our suburban backyard happily singing away the morning - birds have given me immense pleasure during my life. I want future generations to be able to experience these same wonders and have therefore included a gift to BirdLife in my will." —Rob Colwell
