BirdLife Europe’s partner in Belgium, Natuurpunt (Flanders), has assessed specific progress regarding the implementation of the Natura 2000 network as well as on selected topics that will be key in reaching the EU 2020 Biodiversity Target in Flanders. The priority tasks that Flanders should undertake are outlined on all topics.

Key topics for reaching the EU 2020 Biodiversity Target in Flanders
BirdLife partners have selected additional key topics that should be prioritised in their country. This can include main threats and challenges to be tackled in order to achieve sufficient progress on the EU Biodiversity Strategy, but also main achievements and successes.
On each of the topics raised in the progress assessment of their country (i.e. implementation of Natura 2000 and other key topics), BirdLife partners have formulated recommendations and priority tasks or milestones for 2014.
