| This progress assessment is based on Birdlife Partners’ expert assessment of progress in their Member State with regard to the management and protection of Natura 2000 sites on land.However, as no scientific methodology has been applied, the assessment remains subjective.The assessment does not refer to the management of marine Natura 2000 sites. The assessment takes into account the management of both Special Protection Areas (under the Birds Directive) and Sites of Community Importance (under the Habitats Directive).
