BirdLife Europe’s partner in Sweden, SOF, has assessed specific progress regarding the implementation of the Natura 2000 network as well as on selected topics that will be key in reaching the 2020 Biodiversity Target in Sweden . The priority tasks that Sweden should undertake are outlined on all topics.

Natura 2000 Network

This brief assessment covers the progress made to date on the designation of Natura 2000 sites, their management and financing.

 

Key topics for reaching the 2020 Biodiversity Target in Sweden

BirdLife partners have selected additional key topics that should be prioritised in their country. This can include main threats and challenges to be tackled in order to achieve sufficient progress on the EU Biodiversity Strategy, but also main achievements and successes.

 

Member State Tasks

On each of the topics raised in the progress assessment of their country (i.e. implementation of Natura 2000 and other key topics), BirdLife partners have formulated recommendations and priority tasks or milestones for 2014.
