Member State Tasks
- Recommendation on Natura 2000 designation: All 148 proposed IBAs, with a total surface of 4.157.500 ha. (by Romanian Ornithological Society/BirdLife Romania and Milvus NGO) to be included in the SPA network.
- Recommendation on Natura 2000 management: All Natura 2000 sites to have an administration and management plans. 50 % of Natura 2000 sites should have management plans by 2014.
- Recommendation on Natura 2000 funding: To create a functional National Authority for Protected Areas for a better management of funds.
- Recommendation on the impact of EU-subsidies: To extend implementation of agro-environmental measure at national level; more LIFE projects in Natura 2000 sites. Red-breasted Goose and Lesser-spotted Eagle egro-envirnment measure to be applied.
- Recommendation on threats from a specific sector: Wind energy development. To develop a clear National Strategy for wind energy; with Strategic Environmental Assessment carried out most urgently for the Dobrogea region. Avoid construction of wind energy projects in Natura 2000 sites.
