Population justification: There are estimated to be fewer than 10,000, possibly around 3,000-5,000, individuals on Wetar. The species appears to be rare on Timor, therefore the global population is conservatively placed in the band for 2,500-9,999 mature individuals. This equates to 3,750-14,999 individuals in total, rounded here to 3,500-15,000 individuals. |
|
Trend justification: Rapid population declines are suspected to be occurring in line with high rates of habitat loss, as well as pressure from wild bird trappers, within the species's range. |
