Amazona autumnalis (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) was provisionally split into A. autumnalis and A. diadema by Stotz et al. (1996) but this treatment has not been adopted, following SACC (2005).
Distribution and population
The species has been heavily traded: since 1981, when it was listed on CITES Appendix II, 55,329 wild-caught individuals have been recorded in international trade (UNEP-WCMC CITES Trade Database, January 2005).
