Population justification: As of 2011, the population numbered c.50-70 individuals spread over two areas, roughly equivalent to 33-47 mature individuals. There is an additional captive population numbering c.280 individuals (T. White in litt. 2012). |

Trend justification: An increase of 1-19% is estimated to have occurred over the last ten years, based on regular counts of the total wild population, and it is now thought to be stable. Should the second population at Rio Abajo prove to be viable the population may once again increase. |
