Site description Large areas of fen are located in the middle stretch of this river valley and in flooded parts of the upper river valley. In the lower stretches there is natural old-growth riverine forest, and sandy grasslands.

Management considerations Since 1991 the upper river has been regulated, which has influenced the area of flooding. Affected areas have included some areas of marsh, meadow, willow Salix scrub and riverside forest.
