Ornithological information The IBA supports a diversity of breeding species of wetland and forest habitats.

Site description An extensive lake and wetland complex situated along the River Dalälven. Much of the area floods regularly and comprises freshwater marsh and peatbogs. The surrounding forests of both coniferous and deciduous species are largely old and undisturbed. Commercial forestry is, however, carried out in some areas.
