Ornithological information Up to seven waterbird species are present in significant numbers during cold winters, totalling over 20,000 individuals. Several species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive breed at the site, including Recurvirostra avosetta, Sterna paradisaea and S. albifrons.
Site description A narrow strait including islands and peninsulas with coves, lagoons, saltmarshes, reedbeds, broadleaved forests, cultivated land and some scattered habitation.
