Site description Moreton Point lies on the western coast of Coronation Island. The Larsen Islands, of which Monroe Island is the largest, lie several kilometres west of Moreton Point. . The IBA includes the ice-free area at Moreton Point, all of the Larsen Islands and an adjacent ice-free area on the northwestern coast of Coronation island.

Information on the environment at Moreton Point and the Larsen Islands is not available.. The nearest research station is Signy (UK), located 27 km southeast of the IBA. See Ant095 for information on the environment and facilities at this station.
