Management considerations Major threats are posed by intensification of forestry, drainage, unsustainable hunting, and tourism. Regeneration of deciduous forest is limited due to overbrowsing by introduced red deer Cervus elaphus. Research involves monitoring of birds (since 1968) and mire plants.
