Ornithological information The area supports one of the highest breeding densities of Crex crex in Lithuania, with the meadows in the Kaiiadorys district providing particularly suitable habitat.
Site description Semi-natural wet meadows in a river valley (100-500 m wide) with some Salix bushes and small ponds. Floods are seasonal but irregular and the meadows have varied water regimes. Grazing and haymaking take place at low intensity.

Management considerations The site is covered by the national IBA monitoring network, and there is an annual census of Crex crex. Currently, there are no major threats.
