Ornithological information La diversidad de aves de Pomac esta representada por más de 95 especies. Entre las aves que mas destacan Phytotoma raimondii, Tachycineta stolzmanni, Myiarchus semirufus, Theristicus melanopis y Tumbezia salvini.

Site description El Santuario Histórico Bosque de Pomac (ex Zona Reservada Batán Grande) se estableció en el 2001 con el objetivo de conservar la unidad paisajística – cultural que forma parte del Bosque Seco Ecuatorial y el Complejo Arqueológico perteneciente a la Cultura Sicán. Se encuentra ubicado en la cuenca baja del río La Leche, en la provincia de Ferreñafe, departamento de Lambayeque, a 31.5 km de la ciudad de Chiclayo. Presenta lluvias esporádicas durante los meses de diciembre – abril, con mayor incidencia cuando ocurre el evento "el niño". La especie de árbol que domina el paisaje es el Algarrobo (Prosopis palllida).
