Site description A bay with saltwater lagoons, saltwater marshes and mudflats.

Management considerations Disturbance of birds by tourists and aquaculture activities are problems. The possible extension of a golf course in the area also poses a threat.
Protection status National Partial International High195 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Lilleau des Niges, 195 ha). 1,300 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Il de Ré, 1,300 ha). 4,350 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Anse du Fiers d'Ars en Ré, 5,080 ha).
