Site description A bay with sandy beaches, saltwater lagoons and marshes, mudflats, rivers, ponds, wet meadows, small woodlands, grassland, and arable land.

Management considerations The site is threatened by drainage, cultivation, the inadequate management of water-levels and high hunting pressure. The rate of drainage within the SPA area has been reduced by agri-environmental schemes but the threat remains.
Protection status National Low International Partial185 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Le Marais d'Yves, 185 ha). 800 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Anse de Fouras, 1,800 ha) 8,926 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Marais de Fouras, Baie d'Yves et Marais de Rochefort, 11,676 ha).
