Ornithological information The site is important for forest and heathland birds and migrating raptors. The site is a migratory bottleneck where more than 3,000 Grus grus regularly pass.
Site description The site includes heathlands, meadows, ponds and marshes, deciduous and coniferous woodlands, bogs, hedgerows and bocages.

Management considerations The abandonment of grazing is leading to the expansion of forests. In particular, this threatens Circus spp. and Lullula arborea.
