Site description The site includes areas of scree, cliffs, rocky slopes, montane Fagus forests and alpine habitats.

Management considerations The burning of vegetation and the erection of powerlines are the main threats. Hunting (including the illegal shooting of raptors), and recreation (skiing and climbing) are also threats.
Protection status National Low International Low83 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Réserve Naturelle d'Ossau, 83 ha). 82 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Réserve Naturelle de Bielle, 82 ha).
