Site description El área está conformada por extensos manglares, playones de arena y lodo, pantanos aledaños, desembocaduras de ríos y pequeñas elevaciones de bosque seco, sumando en total a 18,500 ha. Está contigua con una franja grande de manglar del Golfo de Fonseca en Honduras y Nicaragua.
