Ornithological information Extensos bosques secos contienen una comunidad de aves típica del bioma "Pacific Arid Slope" (PAS).
Site description La mayoría de los bosques secos en esta IBA (11,600 ha) ocupan algunas 4,000 ha de tierras agrícolas abandonadas en la década de los 1980, por el conflicto armado (guerra civil). Sin embargo, los principales cauces de agua de la zona tienen algunos bosques de galería mejor conservados, que albergan poblaciones de aves como "Fan-tailed Warbler" (Euthlypis lachrymosa) y "Red-throated Ant-Tanager" (Habia fuscicauda).
