Site description A IBA está localizada numa zona interior da Ilha do Pico, apresentando uma elevada diversidade de habitats, como floresta e matas, matos macaronésicos endémicos, Laurissilva dos Açores, turfeiras, charnecas alpinas e subalpinas.

Key Biodiversity One of the most important sites for the Azorean Wood Pigeon in all the archipelago. Also interesting for several endemic subspecies of passerines, e.g. the Chaffinch, the Goldcrest and the Blackcap.
