Ornithological information El proyecto de conservación en la región de Soatá se inició gracias al redescubrimiento de una población de Amazilia castaneiventris (Cortes et al. 2003). En la región se han registrado cerca de 300 especies de aves (datos grupo de organización ambiental OCOTEA).

Other biodiversity Es comun el roble (Quercus humboldtii) y algunas otras especies vegetales de Podocarpus spp y Cedrela sp., Opuntia tunicata y Melocactus amoens. Adicionalmente se observan algunos vertebrados amenazados como el guache Nasuella olivacea, Odocoileus virginianus, Leopardus tigrinus, Agouti taczanoski, Cerdocyon thous (Rodriguez Mahecha et al., en prensa). Igualmente las ranas amenazadas Eleutherodactylus acutoristris (Rana de lluvia picuda), E. spilogaster (Rana de lluvia de guanenta)extienden su distribucion hasta la IBA.
