Ornithological information Breeding birds include four of the 20 species in Europe that are restricted to the Mediterranean biome (when breeding).

Site description A small archipelago, to the south-east of Mallorca, formed by two main islands and many rocky islets. Mediterranean scrub and small Pinus woodlands occur on the largest islands. The main human activities are military and fishing.

Management considerations The main threats are from predation of seabirds by introduced rats, disturbance from illegal fishing, and overgrazing by sheep on the main island. Larus cachinnans are culled annually.
