Site description The singularity of this IBA is given by the degree to which it is covered by forests and the number of rocky formations that together create a unique landscape with a wide spectrum of biotopes - wet lowlands and dry and temperate uplands; deep gorges with wet alpine microclimate; streams, ponds and wetlands; and also quite varied farmland. This means that the area hosts alpine and temperate species as close neighbours. The never-freezing stream of the Labe river is important as well - it serves as wintering site and migration stopover for many species.
