Protection status Dataran Bena covered three conservation areas: Dataran Bena Game Reserve, Ale Aisio Wildlife Sanctuary and Pulau Menipo Recreation Park.- Bena Recreation Nature Park/Hunting Park (11000 ha) declared based on SK Menteri Pertanian 05/Kpts/Um/I/1978.- Ale Aisio Wildlife Sanctuary (5918 ha) declared based on SK Mentan 749/Kpts/UM/12/77.- Menipo Island Wildlife Sanctuary (3000 ha) declared based on SK Mentan 768/Kpts/Um/12/78(MacKinnon 1982, Anon 1995b, BKSDA VII 1997).
